Finished with my first semester at university~~!
Loved it! Couldn't have hoped for things to go any better or differently <3 Have 5 weeks off now so going to take a break and enjoy myself while also tackling some personal projects. Oh, and commissions will be opened again at the start of 2013! So keep a look out for my journal update if interested! I'll have a new price sheet along with new options like pixel icons and traditional works.

Andddd for one of our finals we had to draw an environmental scene. So after changing it five times and having one day left I stuck with this XD Completely different from my original idea but I was getting so frustrated with it that I decided to sneak some much needed love in for my character Sheaku~~ I have little experience with backgrounds so this turned out a little awkward in places but it was fun. Going to try and practice more with environments over the holidays cx

And yeah I don't have much practice with full backgrounds so I ended up doing 3 other drawings before finally just sticking with this one haha XD

this is absolutely stunning my friend, i really love the details in the water and the way you've coloured the sky and mountains, sheaku also looks great here, he fits the scene quit perfectly, it looks like a scene i'd find browsing through concept art for a movie or narnia, very well done.

Ahh wow this is a really great piece you really showed you skills here and its nice to see a background from you as well! Overall i would say the piece is pretty good. The composition is pretty solid and the balance is really great as well. You did a fantastic job for not having much experience with backgrounds especially in the limited amount of time that you had. Some points I would recommend working with is the water and the rocks in the background. While the rocks in the mid and foreground look great the ones just beyond the first mountain on the right could have stood to be just slightly more refined. and as for the water while it does look good it seems just a bit too opaque, but you did a really great job with the reflections off of it, as well as the liquid feel to it which are the harder parts. The only other thing that really stands out too me is Sheaku while he(?) is rendered beautifully he seems a little out of place in the picture just due to the angle he is standing at, it looks like he might slide off at any moment OwO. But as I said before this is a REALLY beautiful piece and I hope I get to see more backgrounds from you soon!
